Julia is the Director of Innovation Partnerships at Thermo Fisher Scientific since Jan 2018. In this capacity, she leads external technology sourcing and in-licensing activities, and supports out-licensing and strategic partnerships across Thermo Fisher China. In addition, she has global in-licensing responsibility for Thermo Fisher in Cell & Gene Therapy area.
External partnerships are an essential component of Thermo Fisher’s ability to bring innovative solutions to our customers, and Julia works closely with the businesses to enable the applications of many cutting-edge technologies to meet key customer needs in the research, clinical, and applied life science markets.
Julia was born and raised in China, and did her graduate studies in Immunology & Virology at University of Rochester, United States. She has worked in technology transfer office at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Life Technologies and brings over 13 years of industry and academic center technology commercialization experience, spanning business development, due diligence, intellectual property strategy and management, startup formation, and alliance management for successful commercialization.
