Linara Axanova, PhD, CLP

Associate Director, University of Pennsylvania, Penn Center for Innovation

Linara is currently an Associate Director at the Penn Center for Innovation (PCI) at University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia which is ranked 4th for the World’s Most Innovative Universities by Reuters in 2018. Linara is responsible for the development of partnerships between the University and industry, and for the licensing of UPenn’s technologies for commercial development.  She manages an extensive portfolio of intellectual property covering oncology, stem cell therapy, neuroscience, diagnostics, medical devices and medical software. Linara leads the drafting and negotiation of collaboration agreements, sponsored research agreements and license agreements with companies of all sizes, from startups to multinational corporations.  Previously, she had similar responsibilities at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in San Diego, and at Tufts University in Boston.  Linara holds a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology.  She received her M.S. degree from the Kazan National Research Technological University, Russia and her PhD in Cancer Biology from Wake Forest University, U.S.A.
